Nutella Protein Balls
These fertility-friendly protein balls are designed to be a truly nourishing snack — not just something sweet. They’re made with blanched hazelnuts, providing healthy fats that support hormone production and satiety. Medjool dates add natural sweetness along with fibre to help support more stable blood sugar. I’ve added cacao powder for its polyphenols and mineral content, plus a quality protein powder to support tissue repair and reproductive health. A touch of coconut oil helps everything bind while contributing supportive fats, and real vanilla brings flavour without refined sugar. This is the kind of balanced snack I recommend when supporting fertility — steady energy, consistent nourishment, and simple whole-food ingredients.
INGREDIENTS (makes 3 PORTIONS )
300g blanched hazelnuts
175g Medjool dates
3 tbsp cacao powder
1 tsp natural vanilla extract
1-2 tsp of coconut oil (this amount can depend on what type of protein powder you use but just enough to get them to bind together)
3-4 tbsp protein powder (I use Vivo Life Raw Cacao)
METHOD
Place hazelnuts in a strong blender and blend into a ground flour. Scrape down sides and lid of blender with a spatula.
Add dates, cacao powder, protein powder, 1 tsp of coconut oil and vanilla extract then blend. Add another 1 tsp of coconut oil if you feel it’s too dry.
Roll mixture into 15-20 balls then place on a tray in fridge until ready to serve
Will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
